Bagsby for Business Manager
Below are testimonials from Members and People connected to Organized Labor and our Communities who believe that Brother Bagsby is the best Choice to continue as Business Manager / Financial Secretary of Local #46.

MORE TO COME…

I started working with Sean in 2004 installing duct bank at SeaTac airport.

Since then it’s been amazing for me to see how much his passion for our members rights and workers rights has grown. I am pleased to call him brother and thankful that local 46 is being run by someone with his morals and values.

Thank you Sean.

PKG

I support Sean Bagsby for Business Manager because he has the experience and expertise to make good things happen. Sean genuinely cares about people and this comes across in all his interactions, which is one of many reasons why he is able to consistently achieve positive outcomes in any given situation!

I’m voting to re-elect Sean Bagsby for IBEW Local 46 Business Manager. I’ve known Brother Bagsby for 20 years and he’s been working hard to make our union strong the whole time. Since he was elected to Business Manager 3 years ago we’ve gotten incredible wage increases and the Local has become a welcoming place to all members.

I’m taking this election very seriously because so much is stake and I need someone I can trust with my healthcare and pension. Sean’s been doing a great job. His opponent Deva, however, isn’t experienced and is just running because she’s angry at our union. I don’t want her in charge of anything that affects my financial well being. Let’s all turn in our ballots and make sure Sean BAGSBY is re-elected for 3 more years of a strong IBEW Local 46.

NG

Sean Bagsby in my opinion has been an Excellent Leader as Business Manager, he has been Totally Dedicated to making IBEW LOCAL 46 Better for Everyone.  He has always been there for anyone who needs help and doesn’t ask for anything in return.  As far as I see,

Sean has done a Great Job and Service for the Union, so Please Get Out and Vote for him to Remain as Business Manager!!!

J.C.

Why I am voting for Brother Sean Bagsby again:

Sean has consistently shown up for our local in multiple ways. He has offered more opportunities for members to be part of the process than any other BM. I have always appreciated the fact that Sean ENCOURAGES members to be involved and consistently has an open-door policy. Any member who has questions about how the Hall functions can go through the leadership classes and become an intern to see it firsthand. As part of that, he restarted those classes. He has given the opportunity for more JW’s to be on our apprenticeship interview board and he keeps our clubs open and active. He continues to fight for strong and improved contracts for ALL the units of 46. He understands the continued need for higher livable wages to support our union families. He has held his staff to a level of accountability that is quite impressive and should be acknowledged. More reps are active in the meetings, responding to phone calls and doing on-the-job site visits.

Brother Bagsby has my vote this time and for the foreseeable future.

Together we stand,

SM

I work as a legal advocate for IBEW Local 213 in Vancouver British Columbia. I’ve worked for local 213 for over a decade and I’ve known Sean for the entire time. Additionally, I served as the Recording Secretary for the National Electrical Workers Minority Caucus where I was able to work closely with Sean as a fellow Executive Board Member. But, I want to speak about Sean through the lense of a union legal advocate and how good leaders make a difference and great leaders teardown walls.

I have exceeding high standards when it comes to speaking well of and respecting someone in a leadership role or political position. So many leaders talk the talk but they certainly don’t walk the walk. Working for IBEW Local 213 for as long as I have I understand how a healthy union runs – it runs on solid and compassionate hardworking leadership. I know Sean is already working at 5am on week days and weekends and he works long into the night for his members. He was doing this as an ABM for Local 46 long before he ever took the Business Manager position. Sean is the elitist of the elite, he has everything you want in a business manager – compassion, loyalty, inhuman work ethic, legal mind, balance, and drive.

Sean works diligently to provide improvements for all members. His drive to advance rights for workers is all he thinks about. He fights daily to restore balance for workers. His good nature allows him to advance rights for workers and affords him seats at tables where unions were never invited. His kindness should NEVER be taken for weakness – Sean is a powerful and strategic man. If you haven’t had the opportunity to see these sides of him, it’s only because he’s served one term as business manager, the longer he serves the healthier the union and its members will be. Sean is just getting warmed up in this role, I wholeheartedly give Sean the strongest recommendation possible. He’s not just a great leader, he’s an absolute warrior with the highest moral standard.

I was recently out of town for family friendly event. Sean took me around the room and introduced me to other brothers and sisters in the room, he didn’t have to. I have always felt included and listened to.

Brother Sean Bagsby continues to bring the power together through increased membership outreach, fiscal transparency and an unwavering ability to unite our local.

Solidarity Forever!

The things that have happened at the hall over the last 3 years have been a positive experience.  There have been several changes aimed at internal organizing like the holiday events that were aimed at including the members’ family.  The Christmas and Easter events as well as the Meals for Members as well as the setting up of the Family Support Services. There have been opportunities for members to go to schools and spread the word about the electrical industry.  The prizes at the picnic have moved more to items that can be used in the home rather than tools for work.  The CEU classes have been expanded and workshops for members to practice skills that they have not had the opportunity to learn hone on job sites have been added. I see good things in the future if Sean continues his leadership of the hall.

I’ve been in this local long enough to have seen five business managers. Sean is the first manager that I have seen who elevates, advocates, and fights for all the units, not just one or two. He has brought back to action of the classes, committees, and activities the last administration selfishly took away from the members.

The other candidate running has a history of being petty, vindictive, and clearly has a chip on her shoulder. One of the reasons I’m voting for Sean is because I’m afraid that Deva will burn our house down.

I believe that IBEW Lu 46 is very fortunate to have Sean Bagsby as our Business Manager. I appreciate his heart for service and have watched for years how incredibly hard he works for our members. Not only that, but he is smart and has a plan that will bring our local even more success. I also love that he puts resources towards all of our units – not just the biggest one. It’s important to me that he wants to give everyone of us the opportunities to grow and advance in our lives and our careers.

Greetings Union Family,

Since joining Local 46 as an Inside Wire Apprentice, I have had the honor of being a part of a few large projects in our area and have gotten to know several of my hard working, proud, craft oriented siblings. I have been taught by individuals who strive to do their best for the contractors of whom they are employed. Every journey worker is trained to represent our trade with dignity, tact and a determination to satisfy our customers. Our apprenticeship programs have a foundation rooted in investing in people. As IBEW, we set a standard amongst building trades that is widely respected and admired.

Everyday, I am surrounded by true professionals who impart their skills and knowledge to myself and my peers. It serves as inspiration to me. As much energy as we invest into our jobs, personally, I have tried to give back to our membership through participating in the Local’s growing and thriving community via planning and volunteering for our family oriented events and member minded services.

Along with our regularly scheduled monthly meetings about official business, it is known that, throughout the calendar year, for various occasions, we gather to break bread, win prizes, socialize and celebrate as a unified collective with our own families through these Hall organized events. For those of us that seek further support during the apprenticeship and throughout our careers, the Local provides space to gather and connect. We have several groups and committees that are centered around enriching and supporting one another through mentorship, leadership development and skill training. This does not happen successfully without the encouragement and example set by our current Local leadership. I consider myself and the rest of my Union siblings lucky to have a like-minded administration that recognizes us as whole people, not just numbers on a list. They are truly committed to investing in our memberships’ worker rights as well as beyond the job site. This is why I am voting for Mr. Sean Bagsby as Business Manager.

With all of the humbleness and respect I possess, I urge you to take action and participate in voting in this years election. Let us continue to grow and recognize one another’s strengths, as well as work together to improve each others short comings.

In infinite fellowship with you all,

JW

I am a second year 01 apprentice, but I have a unique outlook on our union.

My partner is a 01 electrician that just received her 10 year pin. She is an active member of our union and has been attending meetings for all of her time in the union. I have also been actively attending for close to 10 years as well, first as a guest, then 3 years ago as a member myself when I started working as an installer.

Over the past 10 years I have experienced a lot of what the union has gone through. I’ve seen its ups and downs, as well as the benefits of living in a union household. Looking back, the current administration at our Hall has been a breath of fresh air.

Some of the things I appreciate about the current administration is it’s inclusivity, transparency, willingness to bring rank and file in for internships as well as permanent positions at the hall. The suspension of testing for marijuana has been a great move, as well as the focus and support on organizing. I love the fact that our current business manager and leadership team makes time to meet and connect with our members. I feel like the last few years have been great!

As someone who regularly attends meetings, I am informed about what goes on at the hall. Our union representatives are passionate and accomplish a lot of hard work for our members. I find myself continually bragging about the benefits of our union.

In closing, I hope that anyone who is interested in getting more involved in our union will take advantage of a leadership that is willing to connect with the members and inform them of their union and it’s benefits.

RH

Every year Brother Bagsby is one of the last one to help clean up after the community picnic and coordinates bringing things back to storage to save the union time and money. He cares about every member, I trust him with our money because he has proven for so many years, he wants the best for everyone in our membership.

RCN

Why am I supporting Brother Sean Bagsby for re-election? Because Brother Bagsby Shows Up. First Wednesdays for Unit meetings? Brother Bagsby is there. Tuesday night committee meeting? Brother Bagsby is there. Saturday morning for Local 46 Leadership classes? Brother Sean Bagsby is there. More importantly, he shows up for us with his passion, his focus, and his results.

I am a 10 year Rank and File IBEW 46 member, and PSEJATC Graduate. The previous administration left us feeling broken and disenfranchised. Sean’s leadership over the last 3 years has shown that he genuinely cares about the Local and the Membership. His passion and commitment shows in his actions. He has driven the mission of unity and inclusion while helping achieve better agreements and more membership involvement.

Sean’s fulfilled promises to the membership, positive outlook and vision to the future make him the most qualified for the job. Brother Bagsby has my vote.

In Solidarity,

JJ

I first met Sean Bagsby at the 2023 Chili Cook-Off where I won 2nd place in the Chili Contest.

As a pre-apprentice looking to get into the trades Sean Bagsby has
been the friendly face that always made me feel welcome. I am a
small female of minority and even though I have built houses by
myself a lot of people look at me and assume I can’t do much. Sean
is not only a sunny warm ray of sunshine but has been nothing but
encouraging of which ever route I was interested in doing. I was
never made to feel like I wasn’t physically or mentally capable.

This made me want to stick around the Local 46 and get more
involved. It felt like a safe and inclusive environment. I volunteer in 3
of the committees currently, take classes at the hall, and fully intend
to apply to the JATC Apprenticeship.

I hope the testimony from the viewpoint of a completely new person
and a woman of minority is helpful to you in the consideration of the
re-election of Sean Bagsby as Business Manager.

LL

Sean is invested in a future for Local 46. Every time I bring my family to the union hall or union events like the picnic, he is a warm welcome to all our family. He inspires my son and represents a trusting professional face for the future. I trust him with my retirement funds and keeping the Local protected for future generations.

OMN

Sean Bagsby has my full support for our Business Manager. He has proven himself time and time again as the best person for the job. In the 20 years that I have had the pleasure of knowing him, he has always had the union‘s  best interest at heart. He is the most honest, straightforward and humble person I know. There is no better than Sean Bagsby!!!!!!

KK

My vote is for Sean Bagsby. He is for our membership and it shows with the last contract negotiation and devotion to inclusivity.  Sean’s adaptability takes the rapid change and growth of our Local head on with careful consideration. Deva on the other hand offers no plan or solutions.  Hate and Anger is not constructive for unifying and strengthening the IBEW. In fact it breaks it down. She’s clearly out of touch with our membership.

ZS

I met Sean Bagsby after he became business manager at LU46. He welcomed me genuinely at each meeting I attended, like an old friend. He supported me in the work that I was doing and always followed through on his commitments. Sean has been instrumental in helping me transition from an apprentice to a Journey-Level that is becoming a leader in my local, LU77. Not only has he done this for me, but I have seen him do this countless others. He has shown his leadership skills and his commitment to the LU46 family at every instance I have interacted with him and I am proud to support his run for re-election.
